Account & sign-in
Sign in to an Apilium account with an email and password, or with social sign-in via Google, GitHub or Microsoft. An account is only needed for paid features — everything local (writing, linking, the graph, connecting your own AI) works signed-out.
From your account you can manage your plan: see your current tier and upgrade or change it. For tiers, activation, and license details, see Licensing & activation.
AI & MCP connections
Altretta connects the AI you already pay for — it ships no language model of its own, and never proxies your requests. Your AI providers, MCP connections, and access tokens are configured here in settings, and the full walkthrough lives in the AI section.

Two kinds of connection, kept separate
Altretta deliberately distinguishes the AI that answers your questions (the model grounded in your vault) from external assistants you connect over MCP. Keeping them separate means it's always clear which tool is reading your notes and which is reaching out.
Altretta does bundle one small model: a local embedding model used to build the semantic index that makes grounded retrieval work. It runs entirely on your machine and never talks to a network. It is not a chat model and it never answers a question — that is always the provider you chose.
Your identity keys
The Identity panel lives inside this category. It's where your Ed25519 signing key, your author name, your fingerprint and your public keys are managed, and where you import a teammate's public identity. See Signing keys & identity.
