Install & manage plugins
You install plugins from Altretta's official Hub, review the permissions each one requests before enabling it, and turn any plugin on, off, or remove it at any time. Nothing runs until you've seen what it's allowed to do.
Browse the Hub
The Hub is Altretta's official, first-party plugin catalog. It's curated by Apilium and isn't user-editable, so every entry comes through a known, vetted source rather than an anonymous list.
Open the plugin catalog
Go to Settings → Plugins and open the Hub. You'll see the available plugins with a short description of what each one does.
Pick a plugin
Select a plugin to see its details, including the permissions it will request. Nothing is granted yet — this is just the description.
Install
Choose Install. Altretta verifies the plugin's signature before adding it, confirming it's authentic and unmodified.
The Hub is the official catalog. Because it's curated and not user-editable, you don't paste in URLs or IDs from strangers — you browse a first-party list.
Review permissions, then enable
An installed plugin doesn't get to do anything until you enable it — and before you do, Altretta shows you exactly what it's asking for.
Read the requested permissions
When you enable a plugin, Altretta presents its declared permission scopes — for example, whether it needs to read your note contents. A plugin that wants to read your notes has to ask for that explicitly.
Approve to enable
If you're comfortable with what it's requesting, confirm. The plugin becomes active with exactly those permissions and nothing more.

Enable, disable, and remove
You stay in control after installing. Each of these is per plugin — turning one off never affects the others.

| Enable | The plugin becomes active, with the permissions you approved. |
| Disable | The plugin stops running but stays installed, so you can turn it back on later without reinstalling. |
| Remove | The plugin is uninstalled entirely. |
Not sure about a plugin? Disable it rather than remove it — you keep it around but stop it from running, and you can re-enable it any time. To review what an active plugin can touch, reopen it in Settings → Plugins; its granted permissions are always visible.
